Yasmin Finney recently spoke to Daily Mail about joining the Doctor Who Universe and not surprisingly, the Heartstopper star admitted that she is happy to be working with the cast and crew of the BBC series. “There are so many moments that make me so proud and happy to be part of the family, I can’t wait for everyone to see and I don’t want to spoil anything. You’ll have to tune in,” Finney said.
“I think I just felt really welcomed by the set and everyone was so lovely and it wasn’t hard to settle in because everyone made me feel part of the family,” she added before pointing out that showrunner Russell T. Davies was the one who made it all possible. “I feel so honoured and I’m just so happy that Russell has opened his arms and saw something in me and I’m so happy to be a part of that,” Finney added. We still don’t know too many things about the new “Rose” but Yasmin Finney assures us that her character is trans just like her. Still, we’re hoping that we’ll get to learn a whole lot more about Rose in the next few weeks. Yasmin Finney will appear in the Doctor Who 60th anniversary next year. It is not yet confirmed whether she will be a guest star or a recurring character who will play a major role in the series. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
