Does Denji Like Makima?
Denji has had feelings for Makima since the first time they met. He immediately fell for Makima after he experienced his first hug from a woman after a very long time. At that point, Denji experienced the warm skinship he had been missing ever since his parents’ deaths. He has grown closer to Makima since that time. In addition to being the first person to give him a taste of a relatively decent life, Makima was also the first girl to ever express interest in him. Denji decides to use Makima’s boobs as motivation in life after becoming a devil hunter. His reason for continuing to live may appear strange, but Denji is serious about his goal, regardless of what others say about him, particularly Aki. He was not satisfied after feeling Power’s boobs, but when Makima allowed him to touch one of hers, Denji felt something different inside him, as if he had just won the lottery. Denji develops stronger feelings for Makima over time. Does Makima Like Denji?
No, Makima dislikes Denji. Makima does not see him romantically at all. In fact, she does not recognize Denji as a human being at all. Instead, Makima regards Denji as a dog and, at times, societal trash. Makima initially treated Denji with kindness and compassion when she took him under her care. She provided him with all of his basic needs, including food, water, and a roof over his head—things he hadn’t been able to enjoy since having had to pay off his father’s debt to the yakuza. Most importantly, in the presence of Aki and Power, Makima gave him a family. She also motivates him on occasion by promising rewards that Denji genuinely desires. Unfortunately, Makima’s kindness and compassion for Denji are just part of her elaborate plan to cause him greater pain—the kind of pain that Denji had never experienced in his life before. Do Denji and Makima End Up Together?
Certainly not. Denji and Makima do not end up together in Chainsaw Man. Makima has never understood romantic love, so her relationship with Denji has always been one-sided. Makima experienced tough love, but her emotions and feelings were always imposed on the Chainsaw Man and the world she wished to change. Even at the end of her life, Makima refused to acknowledge Denji. Therefore, her death was caused by her failure to recognize Denji’s existence. As Denji suspected, Makima is only interested in Chainsaw Man. Denji took advantage of this situation by compelling Makima to believe that he died during their final confrontation. Eventually, Makima let her guard down, and Denji used his last strength to injure Makima with the chainsaw made from Power’s blood. Despite Makima’s treachery, Denji decided to keep her all to himself. He ate whatever was left of Makima in order to keep her from regenerating. In this way, Denji can stay with Makima until the end.
