After Disney’s acquisition of the 20th Century Studios, titles from the latter are slowly getting into the former and one of those is Deadpool. However, the Merc with a Mouth does not exactly fit in with the image of Disney given that he thrives in violence and if he meets Captain America, he would surely be scolded, “Language!”
Still, in an interview with Collider in January 2021, none other than the big boss of Marvel, Kevin Feige, gave the assurance to the fans that the lovable loudmouth hero will still be who he used to be as he enters the MCU in Deadpool 3 and that the franchise will not tone him down.
In a recent chat with Discussing Film, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick sits down to talk about Spiderhead, Clue, and of course, Deadpool 3. When asked what it is like to write Deadpool 3 under the MCU, Reese said, “It’s almost like putting on a comfy old sweater.”

Reese added that they still have the liberty to do what they do best with Deadpool, “Marvel’s really given us the support to maintain the tone and the vision that we have for it. They’ve been very hands-off and supportive, but they’ve also let us do what we do. So really, it’s just been fun. We’re mad scientists back in the laboratory again.”
Reese further shared that they are thankful to pen another Deadpool movie, “Deadpool is our favorite who will always be the character I think we’re most associated with, and we’re very grateful for being allowed to write him again. So it’s a blast. It’s like going back to school again after having summer off. It’s pretty fun.”
Despite all the worries on whether Deadpool would fit into the franchise, Wernick and Reese would just do it just like how they did it before and surely, Ryan Reynolds could blend in anywhere like a chameleon. With Deadpool 3, it would be a fun addition to the MCU and who knows, he may be the center of it all one day.
Deadpool 3 has no release date yet. It is currently under production.
