The third ending not only featured a new song but also had brand-new animation. Aside from playing at the end of the episode, the ending was also shared online via the official series’ Twitter account and on the MAPPA YouTube channel.
Chainsaw Man’s 3rd Ending Song
In case you missed the original announcement, it was revealed in the previous stage event that Chainsaw Man will have 12 unique ending animations and songs – that’s one for each episode. The artists tapped to perform include the likes of Eve, Vaundy, Aimer, and more. For the third ending, the popular Japanese heavy metal band Maximum the Hormone was tapped. Their new song for the anime is entitled HAWATARI NIKU CENTI (2-hundred-million-centimeter-long blades in English). Many anime fans are likely familiar with the band, or at least many know of their song What’s Up, People?! which was used as the second opening for the Death Note anime. Aside from being used as the third ending, this new song is also confirmed to be used as an insert song, which means the song will play at some point in the anime. The song isn’t the only highlight of the ending though as it also features a hyper-stylized animation style that features trippy visuals and even some religious motifs. Much like the first two endings, this new ED drew a lot of attention from fans. Just less than a day after its release, the official ED video now has over 1.7 million views.
