Chainsaw Man was first published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018. Since then, it has amassed over 100 chapters and multiple Chainsaw Man volumes. Over Chainsaw Man’s run, the hit manga has won a wealth of awards and accolades. It is now one of the most popular manga around, and with an anime adaptation, its popularity will only increase.

Chainsaw Man’s Manga Release Schedule

Chainsaw Man is currently scheduled to release weekly, with new manga chapters dropping every Tuesday. The first chapter of Part 2, chapter 98, was published on Wednesday 13th July 2022. As chapters are released early in Japan, most international readers can access the series on Tuesdays thanks to timezone differences. Since Part 2 returned, the schedule has flipped between being weekly and bi-weekly – chapters were released every two weeks for most of August and September. However, Chainsaw Man’s manga schedule has now reverted to being weekly on a consistent basis. Of course, you might want to watch out for changes in future, but right now, it looks like a weekly series. You can read the latest chapters of Chainsaw Man for free through Viz’s Shonen Jump service or on MANGA Plus.

Will Chainsaw Man Part 2 Be Released Weekly or Bi-Weekly?

Before Chainsaw Man Part 2 was released, it was rumoured that the series might change its release schedule due to changing platforms. The Chainsaw Man manga was originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump. As a result, new chapters were produced weekly for the magazine. There would be occasional breaks, but this was the usual schedule for the series. While Chainsaw Man was originally released in Weekly Shonen Jump, Part 2 is published in Shonen Jump+, an online alternative. While Shonen Jump+ doesn’t have the publicity of the original magazine, publishing online comes with its own advantages for Fujimoto. There are fewer restrictions on his work, both in terms of quantity and, potentially, scheduling. Many series on Shonen Jump+ have irregular scheduling, with some series coming out bi-weekly or weekly with scheduled breaks. There are a few series that arrive on Shonen Jump+ monthly. Fujimoto previously said in interviews that he finds weekly manga releases to be “too intense”. Therefore, it would be unsurprising if Chainsaw Man Part 2 continues to move between weekly and bi-weekly release schedules, especially with the anime also airing.
