Speaking of Wolverine, a new rumor claims that the claw-slashing mutant will be making his MCU debut a few months before Hugh Jackman’s appearance in Deadpool 3. And if this report is to be believed, it will happen in a surprising MCU film.Twitter insider @CanWeGetToast seems to tease that Wolverine’s official MCU debut will take place in Captain America: New World Order. After dropping details about Thunderbolt Ross’ upgraded role as the new US President, the scooper intriguingly followed it up with a GIF image of the beloved mutant, obviously suggesting his involvement in the film. In a subsequent tweet, they posted another Wolverine GIF for good measure. The specifics weren’t disclosed but it begs the question: which version of Wolverine will it be? Will it be from the main MCU timeline or someone from the multiverse? However, that would seem to be an indication that he’ll also be playing the Earth-616 version of Logan which removes all those rumored actors — from Taron Egerton to Daniel Radcliffe in contention for the role. Personally, I don’t see Marvel Studios sticking with Jackman in the long run and if anything, his MCU crossover is just another fan service move from Kevin Feige. But given how somewhat unpredictable the Multiverse Saga has been so far, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how everything plays out.Captain America: New World Order is slated to hit theaters on May 3, 2024.
