Bocchi the Rock! is an anime series by CloverWorks that’s based on the 4-panel manga of the same name by Aki Hamaji. The series’ title is a play on the Japanese phrase “hitori-bocchi” which means alone or lonely. While the series wasn’t as hyped as other Fall 2022 shows like Chainsaw Man and Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, it quickly gained popularity as the season progressed thanks to its creative animation, funny story, and loveable cast. Currently, the series is the third highest-rated Fall 2022 show on MyAnimeList with a score of 8.79. It also routinely gets hundreds of comments on the anime subreddit whenever a new episode airs. The series follows Hitori Gotou (nicknamed Bocchi), an introverted first-year high school girl who dreams of being in a band. While she is great at playing the guitar, her extreme social anxiety prevents her from joining a band. Her luck soon turns when she meets Nijika Ijichi, a girl who plays drums and is looking for a new guitarist for her band. Soon, Hitori joins the band and begins her journey as the lead guitarist of the Kessoku Band. ALSO READ: Is the Bocchi the Rock! Manga Complete or Ongoing? Here’s the Current Status
