The show not being available in Latin America was acknowledged by Disney+ on Twitter, but the Tweet was taken down shortly after. Soon, a new update came courtesy of Star+.
Where Can Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Be Streamed?
Thousand-Year Blood War is one of this season’s most anticipated shows as it marks the return of Bleach years after the original anime run ended without a proper conclusion. In case you need a refresher, Bleach is an anime by studio Pierrot that’s based on the manga of the same name by Tite Kubo. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from August 2001 to August 2016. This new anime is an adaptation of the Thousand-Year Blood War storyline which is the manga’s final arc.
It covers Volumes 55 to 74 of the manga. While it introduces lots of new characters, it serves as the conclusion of the story. Given the excitement for the show, many fans were worried that the series won’t get a simulcast at all outside Japan. This is because its international simulcast announcement wasn’t made until only a week before its release. Last week, VIZ Media announced that the series will simulcast in the US on Hulu and internationally through Disney+.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Available in Latin America?
After fans noticed that it wasn’t available in Latin America, the Disney+ Help Twitter account shared that Bleach will not be included in the Latin American region. This prompted disappointed reactions from fans given that fans in other regions can already watch the new episode legally. The Tweet was deleted shortly after it was shared, suggesting that there might be more developments, but a new Tweet from Star+Help was released which shared an update (as spotted on Reddit). In the statement, Star+ noted the interest in the anime, but the service is still awaiting confirmation if it will indeed be released on Star. If you’re not familiar, Star+ is a streaming service in Latin America that is owned by Disney. This means that currently, there is no legal way for fans in Latin America to watch the new Bleach anime. Meanwhile, fans in the US can watch the series on Hulu, and fans in select countries can watch it on Disney+.
