Aldis Hodge, who has been cast as Carter Hall aka Hawkman in the film, recently spoke to The Direct where he was asked whether Hawkgirl will appear in Black Adam. Hodge chose to play coy but he did point out that her absence was not an accident. “Oh, I actually can’t speak to that, her factoring into the film story-wise, because… Yeah, I can’t speak to how it would factor into the film aside from the fact that it would still be awesome,” Hodge said.

“It would be amazing, but her not being there is intentional,” he continued. “We have room to grow, so however we are allowed to go further and we can explore different avenues, hopefully that is one of the avenues that we do get to touch on. But everything has a meaning and a purpose.” It has previously been suggested that Hawkgirl was supposed to appear in Black Adam but Dwayne Johnson confirmed that those plans ultimately fell apart. For now, it is unlikely that the character will be in the film but we’re hoping that there will be a reference to Hawkgirl and her upcoming DCEU debut. Stay tuned for more updates on this story. Black Adam is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and will star Dwayne Johnson as the titular character. Johnson will be joined by Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan. The film will premiere on October 21, 2022.
