Now, a recent report from Deadline (via The Direct) has claimed that Johnson’s production company Seven Bucks Productions is currently developing a Hawkman spinoff film alongside a sequel. However, there are no other details provided about the plot or information on whether Aldis Hodge is already attached to the project. We do have to point out that the original version of the report has removed the information regarding the Hawkman project so we have to take it with a grain of salt. In addition, Gunn and Safran have not confirmed any of their DCU plans since they’re still mapping it out at the moment.
Assuming that the information is true, it is not surprising to hear that they have an interest in doing a Hawkman spinoff considering the response that the character received from the audience. Johnson and his team have also been persistent in pushing to expand Black Adam into more projects. At the same time, with Gunn and Safran still figuring out the future of the DCU, there is a chance that it won’t happen at all and we will definitely update you if an eventual confirmation or the opposite happens regarding this news. A lot of DC fans will definitely be delighted if Hawkman does end up getting his own solo project since the film clearly established that there is a rich story behind the character and it is interesting to see more of him as an individual and as the leader of the Justice Society of America. For now, let’s wait and see whether this actually comes to fruition. Also Read: Black Adam’s Box Office Loss Disputed by New Report Black Adam is available to watch on VOD platforms.
