From the 2009 masterpiece, Avatar, comes its sequel that took around 13 years to make. Now, Avatar: The Way of Water is about to grace the theaters this December and now, early box office projections from Box Office Pro are out for the opening weekend of the highly anticipated sequel. According to Box Office Pro, Avatar: The Way of Water’s opening weekend box office projections is around the $135 million to $175-million range. Given that these are just projections, these numbers may still go up or down depending on other factors that may come in later on. It shall be noted that these numbers are just for the domestic opening weekend. The box office projection outlet puts Avatar: The Way of Water at around $475 million to $720 million for its opening weekend worldwide, ahead of other films.

The numbers for the first Avatar movie rose up because of the international appeal of the film which made it the top movie of all time when it released and the same trend is projected for the upcoming sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. Wherever the sequel may be situated in the box office, a lot of people are still expected to flock into the theaters for Avatar: The Way of Water considering that the target of the movie now includes a whole new generation to enjoy the sequel and that is what makes one a blockbuster.
