After the panel, Newton was asked by Phase Zero about the possibility of doing a team-up with the other young heroes such as Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. While she didn’t give any answer, she did express her interest in the prospect.
“Yeah, I said– I said it to Hailee recently at the Vanity Fair Oscar party and like, I don’t know anything but I know in the comic books that… we both know that, I told her,” Newton said. “I’m like, ‘You know, we’re friends in the comics,’ and we’re both like, ‘Well, maybe. I don’t know.’ So I think it’s whatever the fans want.”
In another interview with Extra, Newton was also asked about the rumored cameo appearance of Steinfeld in Quantumania to which she claimed that she has “no idea” about it although she is also not against the idea of doing a team-up.
“Wow, I have no idea. But you know, Kate Bishop… Next time, if I see Haile, I’m gonna be like, ’Can we take a selfie?,” Newton said. “They’re friends, you know. And I find that so interesting. I would love that. I would love it. And the other thing that’s really interesting is Iron Lad is also Kang, who’s also Jonathan [Majors]. And I’m like, ‘Well what’s going on there…’ Multiverses, let’s go!”
Obviously, whether Newton knows the answer or not, she’s not going to tell anyone publicly whether Steinfeld will show up in the film. Either way, a lot of fans would like to see it happen and hopefully, they will do a proper set-up to the Young Avengers, which seems to be inevitable considering the characters that they have introduced so far during Phase Four.
