Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been memorable for many reasons. The viewers were moved to tears and amazed by this sequel. However, MCU fans were taken aback when one of Wakanda’s pillars died unexpectedly. Black Panther 2 star Angela Bassett revealed to IndieWire that she was against her character’s death arc because she knew it would be upsetting.
“I objected. Yeah, I was like, ‘Ryan, what are you doing? Why? You will rue the day! You will rue the demise of [Ramonda]. People are gonna be so upset.’” lamented the actress.
However, director Ryan Coogler assured Bassett that her character’s death will have a greater significance than it appears.
“He was like, ‘Angela, I know, I know, but look, to die is not really to die in this world. It doesn’t really have to mean that.’”

Despite her sudden passing, the award-winning actress teased the chances that Queen Ramonda might recur in the third installment of Black Panther.
“All kinds of crazy things happen,” Bassett hinted.
If the Queen flares up sometime in the future, it wouldn’t be the first time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to revive one of its characters.
It can be recalled that the original Black Panther brought back John Kani as T’Chaka, despite his death in Captain America: Civil War.
Another resurrection moment was seen in Avengers: Endgame, wherein a plethora of characters were brought back to life with a mere snap of the Infinity Gauntlet.
One of the fights in Wakanda Forever saw Bassett’s Ramonda return to visit Shuri and help talk her down from killing the Talokan leader, fueling the idea that this might establish a future for her in the MCU.
Regardless of a comeback, Queen Ramonda will forever be remembered and celebrated, not just in the Wakanda nation but everywhere.
