Spoiler Alert: There are One Piece Film: Red spoilers ahead!
Where Is Elegia Island Located?
First and foremost, Elegia Island, like Judo Island, is non-canon. Hence, it does not appear in the original canon setting of the One Piece manga. However, given its layout and location, Elegia Island is somewhere in the East Blue, South Blue, Paradise, or Calm Belt. Elegia Island appears to be made up of three land masses from above. The largest island has been rebuilt into a concert hall where people frequently congregate. Large green crystals, a rocky mountain, a harbor, a stone tower, and a small town are also found on the island. Elegia is a monarchy because, unlike other islands, it is governed and ruled by a king. In One Piece Film: Red, Gordon was the first and last king of Elegia Island. READ MORE: Is One Piece Film: Red Canon?
What Happened in Elegia Island?
Elegia Island, also known as the Island of Music, was once a lively place where many people gathered in its concert hall to enjoy live musical performances 12 years ago. Even Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates came to the island to give Uta a chance to shine. Shanks knew how much Uta enjoyed singing, so he believed it is only fitting that their official musician enjoy and experience Elegia Island. True enough, the King of Elegia was taken with Uta’s voice and invited her to perform in the concert hall. However, Uta’s voice resonated and unintentionally summoned the Tot Musica, or Demon King of Songs, in Elegia Island, thanks to her devil fruit abilities. As a result, Uta, possessed by the Tot Demon King of Songs, terrorized Elegia, killing nearly everyone on the island. Since then, Elegia Island has been abandoned by everyone except Gordon and Uta. When Uta achieved worldwide fame, she organized a concert in Elegia for all of her fans, including the Straw Hat Pirates. While everyone had come to hear her sing, Uta did the unthinkable. She duped all of her fans into thinking they were watching her in real life. However, Uta transported all of their consciousnesses into Uta’s world, a virtual space where she plays God. All of this was part of Uta’s elaborate plan to create a world without pirates, unnecessary pain, suffering, or even work! ALSO READ: Is Uta Alive or Dead in One Piece Film: Red?
Who Destroyed Elegia Island?
The Tot Musica, or Demon King of Songs, destroyed Elegia Island after Uta summoned it with her beautiful voice. Unbeknownst to others, Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates were the ones who stopped it from destroying the island further. They volunteered to accept responsibility in the eyes of the government and to absolve Uta of guilt. However, Uta’s hatred for Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates grew over time. She believed Gordon’s white lies and felt abandoned by those she considered to be her true family.
