Haro Aso’s Works
While Alice in Borderland is a hit live-action series globally, some viewers might not know that it’s based on the manga of the same name by Haro Aso. The Alice in Borderland manga was a hit, and Aso released several side stories and spin-offs in the years following the main series’ end in 2016. These spin-offs include Alice on Border Road and Alice in Borderland: Retry. The latter is an interesting spin-off given that it’s set years after the original series and delves into the future of the main characters. Typically, popular manga titles are adapted into anime. While the series got a three-episode OVA before, it only became popular around the world when it was adapted into a live-action show by Netflix. Its first season was released in late 2020, and it got positive reviews, with many critics and viewers praising its engaging survival game premise. Thanks to its high viewership, the series was renewed for a second season which was released last December 22. While Alice in Borderland is Aso’s most popular work, he also has other manga titles that aren’t part of the franchise, including Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead and Noyu Girl. Zom 100 is an interesting work as it is being adapted into a live-action film by Netflix as well. ALSO READ: Alice in Borderland Season 2 Raises the Stakes on Manga’s Filler Chapters

Though her partners have lessened as time goes by, so she resorts to using dating apps. Aso serves as the series’ writer, with Mano Sakamoto as the illustrator. Also credited in the work is Tatsunari Iota. Sex-chan’s first two chapters are available now on Comic Seymour Bookshelf in Japanese.
